 Oct. 7, 2008: The cost of heating homes will likely be higher this winter than it was last winter, according to a new report from the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Energy Information Administration (EIA). According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA’s) most recent projection of heating degree-days, winter in the lower 48 states is forecast to be 2.4 percent colder compared with last winter.
